Trainer Certification Training

Nurturing Families Certified Trainers prepare professionals to become Facilitators of the Nurturing Families™ 2nd Edition program. Certified Trainers lead facilitator trainings, provide consultation and coaching, and may conduct agency, statewide, or national workshops and conferences. 

To maintain active certification, all trainings and workshops must be documented and submitted to the Nurturing Families Center. 

Prepare to be a Trainer

Observe an 18-Hour Facilitator Training
  • Observe an 18-hour Facilitator Training led by an experienced Certified Trainer

  • Purchase the required Trainer Packet

  • Complete 6–10 hours of individualized training and coaching

Lead Your First 18-Hour Facilitator Training

  • Your first two trainings must be conducted within your organization

  • Your Certified Trainer will provide consultation and support during this phase

Maintaining Active Trainer Status

To remain an active Certified Trainer, the following requirements must be met throughout the year:

Meetings & Workshops
  • Advocate for and promote Nurturing Families implementation in your community and state
Alumni Support
  • Conduct support groups for Nurturing Families alumni

  • Promote programs on the Nurturing Families Center website and social media

Trainings
  • Conduct at least two (2) 18-hour Facilitator Certification Trainings annually

  • Conduct fidelity booster sessions as needed

Trainer Responsibilities & Accountability

Ongoing Responsibilities
  • Promote the implementation of the Nurturing Families program

  • Keep contact information current on the Nurturing Families Center website

  • Ensure Facilitators are official affiliates of the Nurturing Families Center

  • Visit the Nurturing Families Center website regularly

  • Adhere to all material copyright requirements

  • Monitor program fidelity and adaptations

Annual Requirements​
  • Attend three (3) Trainer networking meetings

  • Attend the Recertification Conference every November

  • Recertify all Facilitators between December and February

  • Conduct two (2) Nurturing Families Facilitator Trainings

  • Ensure participants purchase required Nurturing Families manuals prior to training

  • Provide ongoing coaching and consultation to support fidelity implementation
